ATE system for British aerospace, I had to design an ATE system to
automatically pass or fail Airplane fuel systems, the  ATE had to plug into
the umbilical cord on the fuel system and carry out tests on impedance and
500v insulation, The ATE was mounted in an 19” rack system, the menu was
graphics driven display to select the types of fuel pumps to test, at the
end of the test a report was printed out with a pass or fail cert. I used
the 80 Micro family for the control and made it module so that other
module’s could easily be added at a later date, as each module was self
loading a bit like Plug n play today but the drives
were built into the module and the drivers were also self loading.
